Metro Theatre is happy to announce their 47th season of plays coming up for the new 2009/2010 season.  Once again, plays have been chosen with a variety of comedy and mystery to entertain you through the whole season!

UP AND COMING by Eric Chappell

British Comedy

Philip Conway, Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the House is attending the party conference and ends up being compromised by being found with women in his room.  "Yes, Minister" political satire mixed with sex farce.  Laugh out loud lines and hilarious physical business.

ARSENIC AND OLD LACE by Joseph Kesselring

 Classic American comedy

On the eve of his wedding to Elaine, the nice girl next door, Mortimer Brewster, a drama critic, discovers that his dear old aunts have been poisoning lonely men and having their eccentric brother, Teddy, bury them in the cellar.  Into this mix comes Mortimer's gangster brother, Jonathan, with his friend and plastic surgeon, Dr. Einstein, also trying to dispose of a body.

THEFT by Eric Chappell

British Comedy/Mystery

At the beginning of the play, John and Barbara have been out celebrating their wedding anniversary with their friends, Trevor and Jenny.  When they return, they discover that they have been burgled.  As it happens, the burglar is still there.  He proceeds to step out of a cupboard and convince the owners that he's a policeman.  From there he goes into an elaborate con to make them feel sorry for him, trying to manipulate them into opening the safe for him.  So it goes on with comedic dialogue and unexpected twists of plot.
